RETURN OF THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS

The Return Of

July 20, 2023 by Nancy Evans
I don’t know about you, but the ‘90s were good to me. I loved going to after-hour parties in the weirdest places, rocking my outrageous clothing and swirling glow sticks. Parties where bands like T99, The Prodigy, The Crystal Method, My Life with the Thrill Kult, and The Chemical Brothers reigned supreme.

I can still remember the raves where songs like “Block Rockin’ Beats,” “Go,” “Out of Control,” and “Hey Boy Hey Girl” drove us into another orbit of delusional coolness.

The Chemical Brothers have not been dormant since the ‘90s though; their last album, “No Geography,” did quite well, winning a Grammy in 2020 for best dance / electronic album. The lead single, “Eve of Destruction,” also won for best dance / electronic recording.
It may be time to get out the glow sticks again because The Chemical Brothers announced they will release their 10th studio album, “For That Beautiful Feeling,” on September 8th.

Their hardcore followers are already raving (no pun intended) about singles “No Reason,” “The Darkness That You Fear,” and “Live Again.”

The video for “Live Again” was just released and it is already blowing up. Also worth a mention; Dom & Nic directed the video – their 10th project with The Chemical Brothers.   In a recent press release, The Chems describe the upcoming album as “a record that hunts for and captures that wild moment when sound overwhelms you and almost pulls you under, yet ultimately lets you ride its wave, to destinations unknown. It’s a record that pinpoints the exact moment you lose all control, where you surrender and let the music move you as if pulled by an invisible thread.”
If you think that is all the brothers have been working on, you would be mistaken. They also announced details on the retrospective book, “Paused on Cosmic Reflection,” an adroitly-named publication of their life in music.
As expected, the guys will be touring, mostly in the UK. Then again, you just never know where their journey may lead.
Hang tight for more on their tour schedule, but until then, check out the new tunes from The Chemical Brothers as it will surely make you smile.
