Pequod’s Pizza, Gary Kessler’s Liar’s Club, and Riot Fest: These are the fine ingredients of Chicago’s Holy Grail. Words simply can’t describe the anticipation we all face upon the opening night of Riot Fest. OK there was that John Stamos sculpture made out of butter we all heard about, but other than that, Riot Fest may be the biggest show to come our way in some time.
Greeting us last night was the pre-party festivities with heavy hitters Patti Smith and her band, Morrissey, and Chicago’s own Alkaline Trio.
Starting today, a three-day jam-packed festival with music across five stages including headliners Smashing Pumpkins, SLIPKNOT, DEVO, The Flaming Lips, Rancid, MGK, NOFX, Run the Jewels, and many more!
Of course, OC Music News is Chicago bound to cover all things Riot Fest for you! Although we don’t have anything to report just yet about the nab ABBA for next year petition, we’ll keep you posted.
Tickets are still available for the Chicago-based extravaganza. Note that proof of vaccination / negative COVID test is needed for entry.
