Being a band with something to say can be inspiring or a first-class ticket to a pariah state. If you do it correctly though, even the naysayers can’t tear your band down. In 2021, Rise Against remains a band that is a beacon for truth and a band that brings a spotlight on injustice.
I have always appreciated Rise Against’s voice and what they stand for. While there is no shortage of artists claiming to be against injustice, it is rare to see them stick by those convictions. Despite all the weirdness we see today, Rise Against stands by their words.
With hits like “Savior,” “Prayer of the Refugee,” “Hero of War,” “The Good Left Undone,” “Satellite,” and “Broken Dreams In,” I’m happy to report that Rise Against with “Nowhere Generation,” has not shied away from speaking out.
Now that life is headed in a positive direction after a difficult year, Rise Against has announced they will hit the road with the Nowhere Generation Tour. The 17-date tour will be held at primarily open-air venues. The tour begins in New York and they will be in OC on Saturday, August 21st at Five Point Amphitheater.
Front-man Tim McIlrath said, “A year without live music in a time when we needed it most has been trying for all of us. Live music has been missing from all of our lives for far too long. We can’t wait to fix that on the Nowhere Generation Tour. It’s been a long year, and we have a lot to say about it.”
The tour is in anticipation of their 9th-studio album, “Nowhere Generation.” The title track is doing very well on the airwaves and the streaming sites are seeing good traction as well.
The band will electrify you on stage, so I highly suggest you snag your tickets quickly. Rise Against features Tim Mcllrath (vocal & rhythm guitar), Joe Principe (bass & backing vocals), Zach Blair (lead guitar), and Brandon Barnes (drums). If you want to check out class personified, who also happen to be a kick-ass band, check out Rise Against. Tickets go on sale this Thursday (May 13), although fan presales have begun.
Hold on to your seats because they’ll be playing with one of our favorite punk bands, Descendents!
