For a while there all the news we heard seemed to be part of a spiraling broken record. How the tide has turned in just a few weeks into 2021.
With that sentiment as a backdrop, this weekend you can catch performances from the Foo Fighters, Deadmau5, Gavin Rossdale, Pete Yorn, James Blunt, and more as part of Rock ‘N’ Relief FREE virtual event.
Music producer, songwriter, and 4 Non Blondes singer, Linda Perry, has teamed up with actor Sean Penn and Ann Lee, founders of nonprofit organization CORE, for a two-day event that will benefit helpful programs like CORE’s mobile vaccine agenda.
CORE may sound familiar as they help operate the country’s largest mass vaccination site at Dodger Stadium. The organization’s model for testing is so smooth, it has also been copied in other parts of the country.
Penn and Lee want to help serve their local community and those that need help the most. Lee told “Good Morning America,” “It’s mostly out of, I would say, rage because when you see that a lot of these things hit underserved neighborhoods the most, you get the sense of injustice. It’s more out of anger that it shouldn’t and does not have to be that way.”
Through Amazon’s Twitch channel and Rolling Stone’s YouTube channel, you will be able to join this virtual show. Did we mention it’s FREE!
The event will help benefit the program that brings access to COVID testing and vaccines directly to communities in need around Los Angeles.
According to the press release, “The current lineup for this two-day concert series hosted by DJ Kat Corbett of SiriusXM & KROQ will feature live performances from artists like Miguel, Macy Gray, Scream, DJ Adam Bravin (of She Wants Revenge), Willa Ami, Juliette Lewis, Donita Sparks of L7 & Friends, Linda Perry, Pete Molinari, Kevin Bacon, Silversun Pickups, Jen Awad, Aloe Blacc, Mariachi Lindas Mexicanas and Troy Noka.
The “House band” will be Flashback Heart Attack [who will be playing for people waiting for heir shots in their cars]. This 80’s cover band is an electrifying surreal sonic experience. They are a perfect fit for this event.

Additionally, the series will include digital performances from artists across the globe like Carly Simon w/ David Saw, Foo Fighters, Deadmau5, Gavin Rossdale, Pete Yorn, James Blunt, Jewel, Gary Barlow, Tracy Bonham, Deborah Cox, Shaed, Sheryl Crow, Sammy Hagar and Jenny Lewis & Blake of Rilo Kiley, K. Flay, and others.”
Rock ‘N’ Relief kicks off at 12 p.m. (Pacific Time) on Friday, March 5 and continues through Saturday, March 6 via Twitch.
