It was July 9, 2022 and it was another hot night in Hollywood for the 5th Annual Rock to Recovery benefit concert.
That did not stop celebrities and musicians from walking the red carpet for a great cause. Rock to Recovery is a non-profit organization founded by Wesley Geer (formerly of Korn) to bring people together to heal through music in conjunction with their treatment center’s curriculum.
This year’s event, hosted by pro skater and recovery house owner Brandon Novak (of “Jackass” fame) long with Wes Geer, honored Emmy winner and comedian Jay Mohr with the Rock to Recovery Service award for his amazing contributions to the recovery community.
Mohr performed a hilarious comedy set and was accompanied by his girlfriend Jeanie Buss, owner of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Rock to Recovery also honored three-time Emmy-winning actor Keith David with the Rock to Recovery Icon Award. David’s jazz band put on an amazing performance, as did the night’s headlining band, Sacred Sons. This band includes musicians from Train, Korn, Madonna, Ministry, Joan Jett & The Black Hearts, and Misfits.
The night featured other special guests, including AGT Golden Buzzer winner Lily Meola, and featured a silent auction. Geer even auctioned off a three-night stay at his home just outside of Joshua Tree.
There was so much camaraderie and support at this event, it was beyond uplifting! Aside the great music, it was a beautiful evening celebrating sobriety and recovery, and how music has the incredible power to heal.
We are all looking forward to the 6th annul show, and the assistance it will provide to those in need.
