Who said in 2021 we can’t get what we want? After a prolonged 16-month postponement, the latest announcement from the Rolling Stones will give some “satisfaction” to their fans.
The longest-performing rock band will re-launch their US No Filter Tour, which will kick-off on September 26th in St. Louis. This version of the tour will include some new dates, and for SoCal, the Stones are coming to L.A.! October 14th and 17th at SoFi Stadium to be exact!
The great thing about being in Southern California is you get to work with many of the movers and shakers Recently we asked KLOS Program Director, Keith Cunningham about the upcoming mega-event and his thoughts about the Stones. He responded as he normally does, with humility and humor.
THE STONES
“Neither the Stones or OC Music News readers need to hear me lay on praise or do a monologue about how great the band is. There really isn’t anything I can say about the legendary Stones that hasn’t been said by people already, but there is this: my 16 year-old daughter REALLY wants to go to this show. When teenagers want to see a classic rock band, that says it all.”

In a press statement, the band said, “We are thrilled to be able to announce the rescheduled dates for the Rolling Stones 2020 US tour, which will now go ahead this Fall!”
The legendary band is behind the life- and era-defining songs “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” “Let’s Spend the Night Together,” “Under My Thumb,” “Start Me Up,” “Honky Talk Woman,” “Beast of Burden,” “Miss You,” “Get Off of My Cloud,” “Brown Sugar,” “Sympathy for the Devil,” and so many more songs from the sountrack of our lives. These epic songs draw multiple generations of fans to sold-out arenas to hear and experience them live.
If you haven’t seen the Stones before, it is reminiscent of a Grateful Dead show; a multi-generational event where words do no justice in expressing the atmosphere of seeing these sonic gods.
From their first performance in 1962 in London, to their induction in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989, to now…the longest running rock band in history; the Rolling Stones are a band that music fans are required to see live. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, and Ron Wood are such a massive part of music history and musical influence, you will regret not seeing them. T
They are credited with leading the British rock invasion of the ‘60s, the “bad boys” to the Beatles’ “good boys.” They had their greatest successes in the ‘60s and ‘70s, yet still had incredible peaks in each decade after. Their longevity has landed them the label of the world’s greatest rock and roll band.
In addition to the added L.A. show, the Rolling Stones added one in Las Vegas, which is a totally doable road trip. The pre-sale for the Stones’ mailing list for New Orleans, Los Angeles and Las Vegas shows will start on Wednesday, July 28th, at noon to Thursday, July 29th, at 10 p.m. General on sale for these added shows commences Friday, July 30th, at 10 a.m.
Greatness is not always defined by what shows you can go to, but it is also part of the mantra that media outlets strive to engage in. In other words, what can they do to help fans go to shows that will be historic in nature. Once the show was announced, local radio station KLOS 95.5 featured a “Get Stoned Weekend.” Listeners won Stones tickets, KLOS will also being doing a lot more as the show gets closer: a historic radio station sending listeners to see a historic band!
