SESSANTA: A Perfect Celebration with Maynard James Keenan
A Perfect Circle & Primus
Team up with Puscifer for Sessanta
September 13, 2023 by David Jackson
A perfect situation rarely happens in nature or in life; OK maybe in a Weezer song. But in the world of music, that is even rarer event. Next year is poised to have that reality come to life as A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, and Primus announce their 2024 tour to celebrate Maynard James Keenan’s 60th birthday, with a tour dubbed Sessanta!
A notable distinction about this tour: It will be A Perfect Circle’s first live show since 2018.
Prognosticator of all that is cool, when he is not slammin’ it with Tool, Keenan jumps on board with two other bands that he will celebrate his b-day with in the form of a tour.
For his 60th, he’ll bring the energy and kick-ass sound of A Perfect Circle and Puscifer to the stage alongside the sights and sounds of Primus.
All of this wonderful music has entertained us for years and now we can celebrate a milestone in music and life with these bands and their pied piper, Keenan.
Just like back in the day when Keenan celebrated his 50th birthday with another kick-ass tour he called Cinquanta (that’s Espanol for 50 to you and me), this edition is already shaping up to be a momentous occasion filled with copious moments of fun and great tunes.
As far as what A Perfect Circle has been up to, they released their critically acclaimed fourth album “Eat the Elephant” back in 2018. The album featured their hit single, “The Doomed.”
As for the mayhem portion, joining in are long-time friends Primus!
Also known for their offbeat humor and entertaining onstage persona, coupled with that music that makes us all smile, songs like “Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver,” “Tommy the Cat,” “My Name is Mud,” “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver,” and of course the South Park Theme are a staple and source of joy for the legion of Primus followers who swear by this band.
The tour lands in SoCal on April 18th in San Diego at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, then of all days, April 20th (4/20) in Los Angeles at The Hollywood Bowl.
Pre-sale begins tomorrow at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster using the code STUDIO. General tickets go on sale Friday.
You need to seriously get ready for this one – it will knock your socks off!
