For this year’s return of the long-delayed NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Convention, the WiMN She Rocks Awards, honoring women who make a difference in the music business, will be returning to Anaheim on June 2nd.
The Ranch will serve as a new location for the event, and is just 10 minutes away from the Anaheim Convention Center where the NAMM Convention starts the following day. The event will feature a star-studded list of honorees, as well as having Halestorm leader and former She Rock Honoree Lzzy Hale, and fellow AXS TV personality Katie Daryl as the guest hosts.
The She Rocks Awards pay tribute to women who display leadership and stand out within the music industry, and has become a standard at the NAMM show. Previous award recipients include Melissa Etheridge, Pat Benatar, Gloria Gaynor, The B-52s, Suzi Quatro, Colbie Caillat, Sheila E, Chaka Khan, Ronnie Spector, The Bangles, The Go-Go’s, Cherie Currie of the Runaways, Linda Perry, and Margaret Cho, plus a collection of role models from all walks of the music and audio industries.
Founded in 2012 by the Women’s International Music Network, the She Rocks Awards honor trailblazing women from all areas of the industry – educators, label execs, manufacturers, non-profits, media, performers, engineers, and more. Women’s International Music Network unites women who work within all facets of the music and audio industries, and provides a community for women within the industry through networking and sharing. The Women’s International Music Network produces the She Rocks podcast, the LIVE: Front & Center web series, WiMN She Rocks Spotlight Showcase Series and the She Rocks Awards, and is founded by music industry veteran Laura B. Whitmore.
Each year, the She Rocks Awards attracts music icons, artists, industry professionals, fans and media for a one-of-a-kind event that shines the spotlight on women who stand out in the industry, and offers a high-energy evening of performances, networking opportunities, giveaways, a silent auction, and more.

This year’s honorees include several incredible musicians: Dionne Warwick (iconic singer, actress, television host), Meredith Brooks (singer, songwriter), Carmen Vandenberg (guitarist of the rock duo BONES UK), MILCK (singer, songwriter, advocate), and Yvette Young (guitarist and front-woman for rock band Covet).
Meredith Brooks will perform at the event, and is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her ground-breaking smash hit, “Bitch,” from her multi-platinum 1997 album “Blurring the Edges.” The song rose up the charts to hit number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and Brooks received nominations for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance and Best Rock Song at the 40th Annual Grammy Awards that year.
Brooks said, “I am excited to be a part of the She Rocks Awards especially on their 10th anniversary, and am honored to be receiving the Trailblazer Award. I look forward to performing and sharing the night with the other talented female nominees. I know it will be a great celebration!” The She Rocks House Band Command Sisters will also be performing.
