We have been waiting for Silversun Pickups to hit the road in 2024. Luckily for local fans, they will bring their dreamy melodies and powerful indie rock sound to The Observatory in Santa Ana on February 9th.
Best known for their unique blend of alternative and shoegaze sound, this local favorite hit it big worldwide thanks to hits like “Lazy Eye,” “Panic Switch,” “It Doesn’t Matter Why,” “Empty Nest,” and “Dots and Dashes (Enough Already).”
The band killed it last year at BeachLife Fest, and drew in a new audience. The L.A. based band is comprised of Brian Aubert (guitar & lead vocals), Joe Lester (keys), Nikki Monninger (bass & backing vocals) and Christopher Guanlao (drums). The band is just plain electric on stage.
Musically speaking, they dropped “Physical Thrills” last year, then a three-song EP called “Acoustic Thrills” this year which featured acoustic versions of songs from the 2022 album.
What has many of their fans talking is their release of songs featured on the Netflix series, “Lincoln Lawyer.” Notably their cover of Joe Jackson’s “I’m the Man,” is taking off.
The band will launch the tour in Ventura, and then travel the US through March. Lending support on Silversun’s tour is Hello Mary.
With The Observatory’s intimate atmosphere, it is the perfect venue to experience Silversun Pickups up close and personal.
