Coming off his electrifying performance at this year’s Cali Vibes festival, Snoop Dogg is coming back to the OC!
Snoop will be hittin’ the road this summer with his High School Reunion tour, which will land at FivePoint Amphitheatre on August 27th.
So far joining Snoop for the tour are Wiz Khalifa, Too Short, Warren G, Berner and DJ Drama. Because it’s Snoop, you never know who might show up.
Earlier this year he mentioned that he was reuniting for new music with Dr. Dre and even posted a very cool old school pic with Dre. Needless to say, their roots go deep.
Is this a coincidence? Maybe, maybe not, we will have to wait and see. The buzz has already started, which is what titans do, create buzz.
For the casual follower you might ask, why is this so significant? The answer is simple, Snoop shot to fame when he was featured on Dre’s history-making 1992 debut single, “Deep Cover” and his solo album, The Chronic.
Snoop and Dre also reunited last year for a surreal Super Bowl halftime show along with Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar.
It really has been good times of late for Snoop. Earlier this year, he bought Death Row Records, the label that literally launched his career. He is Midas come back to life as everything Snoop touches turns to gold, or platinum. “Back on Death Row” is already making noise for his fans.
Circling back to Cali Vibes, fans lost their minds over his tribute to Eazy-E and NWA. This tour appears to be an extension of that epic performance.
Fans can’t wait for their own sippin’ of “Gin and Juice,” and they’ll “Lay Low” to some “Doggystyle” while they are at it because we are only “Young, Wild & Free,” once.
Celebrate and be the “Life of Da Party,” and say “What’s My Name,” with Snoop and most likely a lot of friends at FivePoint this summer.
After all, hanging with Snoop is “Still a G Thang.”
Ticket presales begin tomorrow for Citi cardholders and general on sale is this Friday at 9 a.m. local time.
