Earlier this month, UK synth pop duo Soft Cell released their first album in 20 years titled “Happiness Not Included.” Now they plan to bring it to our shores with a mini US tour; their first North American tour in 20 years.
Marc Almond and Dave Bell have been topping the UK charts with their single “Purple Zone,” their first ever collaboration with Pet Shop Boys. The single combines the unmistakable vocals of Marc Almond and Neil Tennant, and honestly, it’s a bop, as the kids would say.
Almond and Bell played a handful of shows in 2021 to promote the new record and celebrate the 40th anniversary of “Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret.” “Non-Sop Erotic Cabaret” is what landed Soft Cell into our musical world with “Tainted Love,” “Say Hello, Wave Goodbye,” and “Sex Dwarf.”
Yes, their debut album spawned “Tainted Love” into becoming the best-selling UK single of 1981! They will play “Cabaret” in full, along with old and new tunes such as club mega-hit “Memorabilia” and “What.”
