Last year we received new music and a few shows from Tears For Fears. This year, they are expanding the tour and will visit the legendary Hollywood Bowl in August.
Tears For Fears: The Tipping Point Tour Part II brings Cold War Kids as support with the jaunt kicking off in Atlantic City on June 23rd. The Los Angeles date six weeks later will be the tour closer.
The British duo of Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal released “The Tipping Point” in 2022, their first album in 17 years. The title track became a favorite at shows along with their classics “Sowing the Seeds of Love,” “Mad World,” “Pale Shelter,” “Change,” “Mothers Talk,” “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” “Shout,” and “Head Over Heels.”
As 17 years is a long time without a full album, fans were pleasantly surprised to receive new TFF music. Ahead of the album release, Orzabal said, “Before everything went so right with this album, everything first had to go wrong, it took years, but something happens when we put our heads together. We’ve got this balance, this push-me-pull-you thing – and it works really well.”
Smith added, “If that balance doesn’t work on a Tears For Fears album, the whole thing just doesn’t work. To put it in simple terms, a Tears For Fears record and what people perceive to be the sound of Tears For Fears – is the stuff we can both agree on.”
The wait was worth it and the fans fell hard for it. Don’t miss your chance to hear it done live – along with your “old” favorites – when Tears For Fears returns to the US. SoCal fans can catch them in Palm Springs at Acrisure Arena on August 1st, or Hollywood Bowl on August 2nd.
Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. local time.
