With new tune sin their back pocket, the iconic Brit duo Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal, better known as “Tears for Fears” is ready to hit the road. Earlier today the band announced their 2022 Tipping Point World Tour with another legendary, Alison Moyet and Garbage as support!
Garbage is one of the musical staples from the ’90s led by the dynamic Shirley Manson who’s voice captured captured an era of transition of sonic boom. Alison Moyet has enjoyed much success as a solo artist, but her time with Yazoo still resonates to this day.
The tour will kick off in Cincinnati on May 20th and will visit cities throughout the country. This run will mark Tears For Fears first U.S. tour since 2017.
Presale tickets will be available through the band’s website, registration closes Tuesday, November 16, at 9:45 AM Local. The fan presale begins Tuesday, November 16, at 10 AM (Pacific) and is open through Thursday, November 18, at 10 PM (Pacific). General on sale will go live on November 19th at 10 AM (Pacific). Each ticket purchased for the Tears For Fears 2022 tour includes a digital download of the band’s new album, The Tipping Point. Also, on sale from the band’s official store as of today is an exclusive limited edition PINK vinyl version of The Tipping Point.
Recently, Roland said, “We couldn’t be more excited to start playing concerts again. We’ve missed seeing our friends on the road around the world and the energy of performing live,” said Curt Smith. “The Tipping Point has been a long time in the making and we are looking forward to playing our favorites from the new album as well as our classics from throughout the years.”
This is very welcome news for their fans, Tears For Fears are one of the most iconic bands of the ‘80s, selling over 30 million albums worldwide with singles such as “Shout,” “Pale Shelter,” “Mothers Talk,” “Head Over Heals,” “Change,” “Everybody Wants To Rule The World,” “Mad World,” “Sowing The Seeds Of Love,” and “Woman In Chains” all classics beloved worldwide. Locally, you can catch the tour when they come to the Southland on June 6th when they play the Forum in Los Angeles. Then the tour heads south to San Diego to play the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre on June 5th.
