Summer 2022 just got a bit hotter! The beloved rock duo Tenacious D is headed out and stopping in San Diego.
Jack Black and Kyle Gass have been fan favorites for decades and they are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album. The 2001 platinum album made us love the duo and it certainly deserves to be celebrated. Their press release describes the album perfectly: “[It] “quickly established the duo as a force to be reckoned with, full of insane, guitar-shredding chops, vocal prowess, and hella hilarious, smart lyrics; world domination obviously ensued soon thereafter.”
As part of the anniversary, the band released a “Super Power Party Pack” edition in October 2021. The special edition contained a reissue of their original 1995 demo cassette and 2002 “Tribute” EP. Black also told Variety that the duo was working on a new album that may see a 2024 release.

In their time together, the Los Angeles band has sold out arenas, won a Grammy, played with several iconic bands (Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Tool), appeared in movies, plus starred in their own movies and specials. Oh and also became mega celebrities individually.
The Tenacious D select city tour will kick off in Colorado and stops in San Diego on June 24th at Cal Coast Credit Union Amphitheater. They will bring Puddles Pity Party along for the jaunt.
Tickets for most dates go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. local time, but check their site to confirm on-sale info for your desired show.
