“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem”
September 6, 2023 by Josh Coutts
Well, this is definitely not your parent’s Ninja Turtles! The popularity of our turtle friends has not declined over the decades, and kids today love them just as much as we did back in the day. This new flick is sure to keep that devotion going!
Brothers Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael and Donatello – raised by Splinter, their adoptive rat father – have been trained in martial arts and to distrust humans. The turtles have been hidden from the human world, but they want to be normal teenagers.
After meeting a teenager named April O’Neil, they go after a big time crime organization, but it may too much for them to handle. Can they rise to their challenge and earn their hero status and make the citizens of New York adore them?
So yes, the all new TMNT movie changed the origin story and pretty much all of the turtles learned how to become ninjas. Another big change is April O’Neil is different this time around, but her character is quite awesome and funny. Same with the turtles themselves, plus the writing is absolutely fantastic.
Seth Rogen and company wrote a fantastic film and they picked solid voice acting cast. The visuals of the film are absolutely amazing and the art is awesome. The movie has a little bit of a throwback for the parents, but also makes way for the ninja turtles of a new generation.
“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” cast includes actual teenagers playing the boys: Micah Abbey as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. as Michelangelo, Nicholas Cantu as Michelangelo, and Brady Noon as Raphael. The incredible cast also includes Ayo Edebiri (April O’Neil), Maya Rudolph (Cynthia Utrom), John Cena (Rocksteady), Seth Rogen (Bebop), Rose Byrne (Leatherhead), Jackie Chan (Splinter), Paul Rudd (Mondo Gecko), and Ice Cube (as the villain, Superfly).
I think “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” has something for the whole family to enjoy and worth a watch in the theater. Go see it the way it’s meant to be seen!
