As we have already told you, The B-52s are taking over Las Vegas next week for a residency at The Venetian. In addition to performing their catalogue of party classics “Rock Lobster,” “Roam,” “Private Idaho,” “Strobe Light,” “Give Me Back My Man,” and “Love Shack,” they will be on hand for a very special benefit.
Before you can meet the trio, on Sunday, August 27th Fred Schneider will be co-hosting a book event with famed music photographer, Michael Grecco. The event runs from 5-7 pm at The Punk Rock Museum.
Both Fred and Michael will be on hand to autograph copies of his book “Punk, Post Punk and New Wave: Onstage, Backstage, In Your Face 1978-91” with forward by Fred Schneider – space is limited.
On Thursday, August 31st, Kate Pierson, Cindy Wilson, and Fred Schneider will host a fundraising event to benefit Save the Chimps.
Original paintings created by rescued chimpanzees in collaboration with The B-52s will be on display and up for auction. The event starts at 3 p.m. and there are very limited admissions available.
Since you are already headed to Vegas for their August 25th through September 3rd residency, make time to buy some special art and save some furry critters. So pack those bags and head to Vegas to do all things B-52s!
