SHOWS OF A LOST WORLD TOUR
March 9, 2023 by Traci Turner
Another one of our favorites from the ‘80s is headed our way in 2023. The Cure just announced a 30-date North American tour which includes three nights at Hollywood Bowl.
Per the band’s announcement: “The Cure return to North America in May for a 30-date tour #ShowsOfALostWorld23.” The hashtag refers to the name of their upcoming album, their first since 2008.
Robert Smith and the guys will kick off the tour in New Orleans on May 10th, then hit most major cities with the three LA nights being May 23rd, 24th, and 25th. This is their first US tour since 2016.

The run of dates features support from The Twilight Sad.

A verified fan process will be in place along with no dynamic pricing. In an email to fans, Robert Smith vowed to keep ticket prices reasonable, writing: “THE CURE HAVE AGREED ALL TICKET PRICES, AND APART FROM A FEW HOLLYWOOD BOWL CHARITY SEATS, THERE WILL BE NO ‘PLATINUM’ OR ‘DYNAMICALLY PRICED’ TICKETS ON THIS TOUR.”
Formed in West Sussex in 1978, The Cure has been a cornerstone of the alternative rock genre since day one.
With larger-than-life songs, The Cure has fans from everywhere on the planet. Everyone is looking forward to hearing the classics, the songs that started all and more recent ones. The list includes, “Boys Don’t Cry,” “Close to Me,” “Friday I’m in Love,” “In Between Days,” “Hot, Hot, Hot,” “The Love Cats,” “Pictures of You,” “Why Can’t I Be You,” “Lullaby,” “Fascination Street,” “Let’s Go to Bed,” “Harold and Joe,” and “Lovesong.”
The list of life defining songs the band has in its catalog is simply a surreal sonic experience.
The Cure today is just as electrifying as ever. The band features original founding members Robert Smith on lead vocals and Simon Gallup on bass and keys. Then there is Roger O’Donnell on keys, Perry Bamonte on six-string bass guitar and backup keys, Reeves Gabrels on guitar and Jason Cooper on drums.
The Cure is a band you just need to see to understand the impact their music has had on the world of music.
.

The only lingering question from fans is this, is there new music coming soon? Smith has been mentioning it is coming since 2008’s “4:13 Dream.” No word on new tunes just yet. For now, the world and the internet is exploding over the news that The Cure is back!
Registration is open now and the verified fan sale starts March 15th.
