THE DICKIES

To Play The WHISKY A Go Go
October 12, 2021 by Kevin Gomez
Killer punks from outer space, or more specifically, The San Fernando Valley. The fabulous Dickies return to Hollywood as they play the Whisky a Go Go on Friday, October 15th.
One of the longest running punk bands in the United States – without any breakups or reunions – The Dickies originally formed in 1977. Lead vocalist Leonard Phillips and guitarist Stan Lee are the two lone original members, rounded out by guitarist Ben Seelig, bassist Eddie Tatar, and the phenomenal Adam Gomez on drums. Although they have not released a new full-length album since 2001’s “All This and Puppet Stew,” they continue touring, often playing several Southern California shows each year. This should be a fantastic show, as the Whisky was where they played their first show ever, some 44 years ago.
For this show, The Dickies will be bringing along fellow punk icons, The Queers. The Queers are fresh off playing last month’s Punk Rock Bowling, where they played a mind-blowing 21 songs in just under 30 minutes. The Queers are currently out on their own tour and have been traveling across the country since early September. Joe Queer and Co. make it back to Southern California for this stop before playing the following night in Orange County with the Dwarves.
A show with either band would be worth the price of admission, but getting The Dickies and The Queers along with openers VFMS, Gottlieb, Jet Jaguar, The Specks, and With Liberty will be quite a night. Tickets are on sale now for $25 at whiskyagogo.com.
