The electric, entertaining, and talented duo known as The Dollyrots – who also happen to be married to each other – is ready to tear up a venue near you with their kick-ass music. This dynamic duo will never be mixed up with Batman and Robin, but these uncaped crusaders will rescue us from mundane music.
For the past two decades, Kelly Ogden and Luis Cabezas have been entertaining us with their fantastic music. Their fans sing-along to their original music, and lose their minds over some of the best covers you will ever hear anywhere on the planet
At any Dollyrots show, you might hear Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation,” Rancid’s “Ruby Soho,” Bowling For Soup’s “High School Never Ends,” Katrina and the Waves’ “Walking on Sunshine,” The Offspring’s “Come Out and Play (Keep ‘Em Separated),” Tom Petty’s “American Girl,” and don’t get me started with their incredible take on Nirvana’s “Breed.”
More recent additions to the catalog of cool are The Divinyls’ “I Touch Myself,” and Gilbert O’Sullivan’s “Alone Again (Naturally).”
Fans are digging the new music, “Hey Girl,” is doing very well with the rank and file. Their latest, “Still Holding On,” is an infectious song that any true music lover will be drawn to.
In addition to being talented artists who write their own music, the pair are also parents. While it is no easy feat, they somehow have managed to have a perfect balance of family and being rock stars.
Kelly plays bass and is the lead vocalist, while Luis plays guitar and croons on backing vocals. The two put out a jaw-dropping sound you have to see and hear to believe.
Recently the duo told us they are never short of ideas and love having the freedom to put things together. They are always looking to challenge themselves and be creative, putting together music that they believe their fans will love. The Dollyrots have an incredibly loyal and supportive fanbase and many think the new tunes may be their best so far.
As their summer tour travels the US, they will make a very much anticipated return to Southern California. They will make a pit stop at the House of Blues Anaheim where they will play The Parish on July 29th. Then they will take a trip down south to play The Casbah in San Diego on the 30th.
