We fell in love with them for songs like “Do You Realize?” and “She Don’t Use Jelly.” Now, this magical, musical and volcanic ensemble of characters take the stage at the Pacific Amphitheatre this Thursday night.
After playing for a crowd in bubble wrap, the Flaming Lips can’t wait to hit the stage in front of the SoCal crowd. It’s unlikely they’ll duplicate that effort, but it would be dope if they did. Truthfully, you just never know what to expect when the genre-crossing titans of alt rock take the stage.
Instead, we know the crowd will be treated to the band performing from their 2020 album, “America Head.”
With their latest album, you get a little psychedelia, as well as some good old fashion Americana. Flaming Lips are not bound to anything that paints them in a corner. They’re innovative and free of constraints, so expect the unexpected.
The band Greer is the opener and they too can bring it. If you appreciate great music, this may be one for you.
The show opens early, 7:30 p.m. to be exact, so bring your dancing shoes and spend the night under the stars in the OC with The Flaming Lips!
