SOMEBODY TOLD ME | The KILLERS ARE PERFORMING LIVE
April 14, 2020 by Harriet Kaplan
If it’s on the internet, it must be true… right! Luckily not, but despite anything and everything else related to Covid-19 you read these days, this time this rumor is true and it’s very welcome diversion from our reality. The Killers will be playing LIVE again.
The Killers feature front-man/keyboardist Brendon Flowers, guitarist David Keuning, bassist Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vanucci. The rumors are true, they’ll be performing live on Instagram on Saturday, April 18th at 12 p.m. PST
The guys will be performing a few of their songs. Probably among them will include favorite hit songs like Mr. Brightside, Read My Mind, Somebody Told Me, Smile Like You Mean It, Human, When You Were Young, All These Things That I’ve Done, and current hit, Caution. They’ll most likely play a few songs off their new album. They’ll also answer fan questions.
The Killers are considered one of the biggest rock bands of the 21st century and one of the most successful acts to emerge from Nevada, selling more than 28 million records. The Killers just released a new single, Caution, from the Las Vegas band’s sixth upcoming album, “Imploding The Mirage.” The album is due out on May 29th.
The album is vintage Killers, with some new wrinkles. Former Fleetwood Mac guitarist, Lindsay Buckingham guests on the track. Weyes Blood, K.D. Lang, War In Drugs’ Adam Granducil, Blake Mills and Lucius are also featured on the album.
The LP is The Killers first album since they left their Las Vegas hometown. Caution is the new wave rockers’ first single in two years and the catchy but reflective song is about new chapters in one’s life. Flowers cites Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Bruce Springsteen and New Order as primary influences on this album.
