The Psychedelic Furs started singing their way into our pink hearts way back in ’77, and with only a brief hiatus in the ‘90s, they have been going strong ever since. Now, they are coming to a venue near you with their signature sound and newly announced summer tour.
Their sophomore album “Talk Talk Talk,” changed everything, It caught the ear of filmmaker John Hughes, and that was that. In 1986, their music was the central sonic masterpiece in the feature film, “Pretty in Pink.” The song title gives away what song is part of their legacy. To this day, fans worldwide love that song.

In addition to their film credit that blew them up, The Furs have other hugely successful chart-topping songs “Love My Way,” “Heartbreak Beat,” “The Ghost in You,” “Here Come Cowboys,” “Until She Comes,” “All That Money Wants,” and “Heaven.”
These songs helped pave the way through UK’s post-punk/new wave sound to create the “New Pop” era. Without bands like The Psychedelic Furs, we wouldn’t have Duran Duran, Culture Club, George Michael, or The Eurythmics!
While 2020 put a stop to all the things, it did offer the release of The Psychedelic Furs’ first new album in nearly three decades, “Made of Rain.” The band also experienced a surge in interest from new generations courtesy of appearances in “Call Me By Your Name” and “Stranger Things.”

Brothers Richard and Tim Butler will hit the road with the rest of their gang; Mars Williams, Amanda Kramer, Rich Good, and Zack Alford. In addition to promoting “Made of Rain,” they will be celebrating the delayed 40th anniversary celebration of their first and self-titled album.
The Furs are playing locally at the Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa on August 14th, San Diego on August 16th, Pioneertown on August 17th, and finishing off their tour August 18th in Los Angeles at the YouTube Theater. Opening for the Furs will be Los Angeles punk legends, X!

As for X, they are back on the road and killing it. With the success of their 2020 album, “Alphabetland” and a sonic legacy in tow, the band sounds as tight as ever.
X remains a powerhouse with Exene Cervenka behind the mic, Joh Doe on bass and vocals, Billy Zoom on guitar and DJ Bonebreak on the skins. This is a band you have to see as well.

The tour starts June 26th in Pennsylvania and shows are selling out quickly! Be sure to grab your tickets now while you still can!
