San Juan Capistrano’s Swallows Day Post-Parade Concert
March 21, 2023 by Jason Roberts
Every year, the world famous swallows return to San Juan Capistrano, just as they have for centuries. This weekend we celebrate their annual pilgrimage with several family-friendly events.
First up is the 63rd Annual Swallows Day Parade, which will be held Saturday in downtown San Juan Capistrano. The parade is dedicated to the swallows that build their nests in the spring every year at the historical Mission San Juan Capistrano.

After the parade, you can check out some incredible country music at The Outpost San Juan Capistrano at The Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park.
Providing the official post parade party entertainment Saturday is Texas native Granger Smith, and his alter ego, Earl Dibbles Jr. Smith has gained fans courtesy of his songs “Backroad Song” and “If the Boot Fits,” plus his feature film, “Moonrise,” and his YouTube show, “The Smiths.” Smith has quite the loyal fanbase – more than 12 million followers on social media – and his fans have dubbed themselves the “Yee Yee Nation.” We expect he will have quite the draw this weekend!
Also performing Saturday is Georgia songwriter Lauren Alaina. Alaina was the runner up on season 10 of “American Idol” and is known for her hit songs “Road Less Traveled,” “Georgia Peaches,” and “What Ifs,” a duet with Kane Brown. She has won several awards since her “American Idol” days, including New Female Vocalist of the Year at the prestigious Academy of Country Music Awards.
On Sunday, multi-platinum recording artist Chris Lane is slated to perform. Lane is known for his hits “Big, Big Plans,” “I Don’t Know About You,” and “Fix,” and is another multi-nominated artist in the country world. Lane is sure to give a great performance for the Sunday crowd.

This weekend’s events at The Outpost San Juan Capistrano are all ages, with doors opening at 4 p.m. and music starting at 5 p.m. There are a variety of tickets and packages available.
Enjoy a SoCal annual tradition this weekend and some fantastic music to go along with it!
