Just in time for all things pumpkin season…new music from The Smashing Pumpkins! For SP fans, the wait is just about over.
In anticipation of a forthcoming album, The Smashing Pumpkins founding members Billy Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin, with guitarist Jeff Schroeder, have given us two new tracks, “Confessions of a Dopamine Addict” and “Wrath.” Their upcoming double album, “Cyr,” will include 20 songs and will be released on November 27.

Because that is not enough for us, The Smashing Pumpkins continue their innovation by creating an animated series, “In Ashes.” “In Ashes” invites viewers on a “fantastical and surreal sci-fi adventure, set to the soundtrack of the latest sonic offerings from the band.” Episodes one and two of the five-part series are available now The Smashing Pumpkins’s YouTube Channel. Episode one is “As the Crow Flies” and is set to the soundtrack of “The Colour of Love.” Episode two is “Inspirations, Aspirations” and is set to “Confessions of a Dopamine Addict.”
Discussing the series, Corgan says, “The original story is something I’ve written and although it’s (mostly) lighthearted, ‘IN ASHES’ does address many things we face each day. That is… if… we live in dystopia, or paradise, or both. The choice, some say, is yours; and could even be a quantum issue.”
