TWENTY ONE PILOTS RELEASE “Scaled And Icy”

& LIVESTREAM EXPERIENCE

May 21, 2021 by Nancy Evans
If 2020 has proven anything, it is that Twenty One Pilots raised their level of concern and brought us a sense of awareness. Now that we are in 2021, they are taking those 2020 lessons and giving us their new album, “Scaled and Icy.”
We fell in love with them with their initial hits, “Stressed Out,” “Ride,” “Heathens,” “Car Radio,” “Tear In My Heart,” and of course “Heavydirtysoul!” Not only do they have an incredibly loyal fan base, their singles continue to make music history and earn them gold records and awards.
Despite the pandemic, the Ohio-based dynamic duo kept busy by working on new music and releasing singles “Level of Concern” and “Christmas Saves the Year.” Now that life is resuming, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun can forge ahead and share what they created; their sixth studio album, “Scaled and Icy.”
The album was written and produced by Joseph and includes themes of the chaos of the apocalyptic year that was 2020. As you can guess, the guys had to record independently from each other for the first time.
The album was released at midnight and the duo will have a major livestream today at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET. They will debut songs from the album and give a live performance, plus offer a six-week interactive experience.

Until the “Scaled and Icy” livestream begins, you can check out their video for “Shy Away.”  The song embraces a synth-pop sound and some alt rock licks.
“Scaled and Icy” is a great album, and the guys can be very proud of the work they’ve done to raise awareness and entertain us.
