For the locals, we consider Voodoo Glow Skulls the Godfathers of ska-core. Although, the East Coast has a legit claim to that moniker with the Bosstones.
Here in SoCal, we know them for being the band who made “Charlie Brown” a skankin’ Rudeboy. They are also the band that brought the crazy train to Skaville USA. No matter what we call them, we know Voodoo Glow Skulls are OG legends!
At OC Music News We’ve covered Voodoo before, and why not? They’re an amazing and electrifying band. But what you might not already know is that these guys are some of the nicest and hardest working guys in the business.
One thing their fans love about them is they are always down to take a selfie, generous with their time, and guaranteed to greet you with a smile; the dudes in Voodoo are simply fantastic people. And did we mention they rock?
What is impressive about Voodoo is each member has their own performance style that helps create an individual show with every instrument you watch. It’s something magical, so when you have a chance to see them perform live, you better take it.
Luckily for SoCal residents, this moment is fast approaching as they will be performing at Alex’s Bar in Long Beach this Saturday.
Supporting Voodoo is long-time punk band DFL, Los Angeles punk band Informal Society, and alternative/indie band Teen Mortgage.
