Coming to The Glass House

The Suicide Machines have established themselves as one of the hardest-working and most respected ska punk acts in the business today. Despite a large and loyal fanbase built over the last three decades, they have managed to avoid mainstream popularity, both by design and choice. By doing so, they have been able to keep their punk rock credibility amongst even the most cynical critics, while gaining the respect of bands like NOFX and Less Than Jake.

Last year marked the 20th anniversary of “A Match and Some Gasoline,” the album that saw the band return to their roots of punk, ska, and hardcore – the sound they had established on their first two releases. Featuring several political songs inspired by climate at the time, focused on President George W. Bush, 9/11, and the wars in Afghanistan and Iran, many of these themes are still relevant and present in a lot of today’s band’s lyrics. So, what better way to celebrate than a small string of shows playing the album in its entirety?

The Detroit band posted on social media they would be playing Berkeley, CA, Mesa, AZ, and San Diego.

Fret not LA and OC fans – this will also include a stop at the Glass House in Pomona on November 8th. The Glass House is a perfect venue for the Suicide Machines, as the large floor is ripe for skanking and mosh pits the whole evening.

The Suicide Machines have announced an all-star lineup that will be supporting this tour.

Florida’s Against All Authority (AAA) eventually became a political punk band, and first got their start as ska punk, so they will fit right in playing alongside The Suicide Machines.

AAA’s influence is seen on so many bands today, such as We Are the Union and Bite Me Bambi. While the band broke up in 2007, they recently reunited in 2021.

Also playing will be ska punk’s Catbite. The Philadelphia act played one of my favorite sets at this year’s Punk Rock Bowling. They are so great at hyping up a crowd; I cannot wait to skank the night away with them.

Kicking off the evening will be California’s Omnigone. Fronted by former Link 80’s Adam Davis, I’ve seen them perform and they will be a great way to start the evening off right. Energetic, charismatic and ska set to warp speed, they are sure to tear the roof off of the Glass House.

It isn’t the end of the world, but you really need to get out to this one. Tickets are on sale now.
