Returns to Hollywood Bowl
August 29, 2024 by Steve Allen
On November 2nd, multi-award winning composer Danny Elfman will host a Hollywood Bowl comeback concert featuring songs from his solo albums, movies, and television appearances.
This not to be missed, one-time performance in Southern California is a scaled-down version of Elfman’s October 2022 Hollywood Bowl premiere, which took place over two nights. Earlier that same year, Elfman rocked the Coachella Music and Arts Festival, but stated he was unable to fit a large number of songs into that show due to keeping a “tight schedule.”

If you were at Coachella, you’ll love this Hollywood Bowl show more. If you saw it online, don’t even think it compares to the live show.
You REALLY need to catch the full live performance. Per Elfman, “Sorry to say this Halloween, my show is NOT for the kiddies! Expect the unexpected and see you there.”

Johnny Jewel x Desire will open for Elfman at the Bowl show. The rock band, which includes Stu Brooks on bass (Dub Trio, Lady Gaga), Nili Brosh on guitar (Dethklok), Robin Finck on guitar (Nine Inch Nails, Guns N’ Roses), and Ilan Rubin on drums (Nine Inch Nails, Angels & Airwaves), provides excellent support for Elfman.
As he did during Elfman’s Coachella concerts, Oingo Boingo’s founding guitarist, Steve Bartek, will be leading the live orchestra, much to the joy of the group’s devotees.
A setlist featuring music by Oingo Boingo, Elfman’s solo compositions – including his 2021 album “Big Mess” – and a selection of his film scores – which includes themes from “Alice in Wonderland,” “Batman,” “Edward Scissorhands,” “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Beetlejuice,” “The Simpsons,” “Wednesday” – will delight attendees.
Tickets for From Boingo to Batman to Big Mess and Beyond! are now on sale, but are sure to sell out!
