North American Double Feature
October 20, 2024 by Traci Turner
The one and only Pixies have just announced a 2025 headline tour that includes a special twist: two nights in each city.
Black Francis, Joey Santiago, David Lovering, and Emma Richardson spent much of 2024 on the road, but still managed to put together a brand new album, “The Night the Zombies Came,” which dropped Friday. With this tour, they will venture out to share the new music – along with the classics we love them for – and perform two different sets over two consecutive nights at each stop.

Of course, no two Pixies sets are the same anyway, but now they will step it up even more. Night one will feature the entire “Bossanova” and “Trompe Le Monde” albums, and night two will explore the band’s extensive catalogue and the new album.

Highly regarded as one of the most influential and pioneering bands of the alt/rock movement, Pixies released “Bossanova” in 1990 and it is home to favorites “Allison,” “Dig for Fire,” and “Velouria.” In 1991, they released their iconic “Trompe Le Monde,” which features “Planet of Sound,” “Alec Eiffel,” “Letter to Memphis,” and their legendary cover of The Jesus and Mary Chain’s “Head On.”
Pixies will launch the tour in Vegas on June 13th, and stop in SoCal June 20th and 21st at Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The remaining dates take them to Canada, the Midwest, and the East Coast.
Lending support will be Kurt Vile + The Violators and tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. local time.
