X-MAS in the OC
December 2, 2024 by Holly Jones
This year has been a year like no other. For fans of punk, we got new music from X and the word is it will be their last. We also thought the last tour was it for the band. Luckily, Santa is being extra generous to us by putting the X back in X-Mas with the band playing their traditional Christmas shows.
The X-Mas tour begins December 9th in Oregon and then heads down the West Coast, making stops in Central California and the Bay Area before making it back to hometown shows at the Observatory in Santa Ana on December 27th and 28th.

Their soulful, blue, county-style of punkabilly riffs remain one of the class acts in all of the music industry, and X still features the core members who formed the Los Angeles group in 1977.
Exene Cervenka delivers a strong vocal performance whenever she takes the stage, while John Doe and Billy Zoom provide the electricity that continues to light up venues wherever they play. Of course DJ Bonebreak is a steady influence that brings home a steady beat.

As for what can we expect… probably Santa Claus is “Coming to Town,” and hopefully music off their last album, “Smoke and Fiction.”

I hope to hear “Big Black X” as the entire album honors their legacy and can be appreciated by punkers of all ages.
We can scream for the songs that made us fall in love with them, such as “Blue Spark,” “Breathless,” “The New World,” “Devil Doll,” “4th of July,” “White Girl,” “Nausea,” “Soul Kitchen,” “Wild Thing,” and their punk anthem, “Los Angeles.”
Get ready for the ultimate punk rock Christmas, guaranteed to make your holidays special! Tickets are on sale now, so go get them!
