Announce Pair of Southern California Shows
December 4, 2024 by Kevin Gomez
Growing up in Southern California in the ‘90s, Goldfinger is just as synonymous with the local punk scene as Bad Religion, The Offspring, Reel Big Fish, and Save Ferris. They were part of the soundtrack of that era, and thanks to Tony Hawk, became part of the literal soundtrack to the ‘90s. Their song “Superman” was featured in the video game, “Tony Hawk Pro Skater,” and as Hawk himself stated, it became “the unquestionable theme to our video game soundtrack.”
Founding members, lead singer John Feldman and lead guitarist Charlie Paulson, are still at it some 30 years later. These days they are joined by MxPx lead singer Mike Herrera on bass, Philip “Moon Valjean” Sneed (formerly of Story of the Year) on guitar, and Nick Gross on drums. As their shows this summer at the Wiltern and Bayfest proved, they still put on an incredible show and are still beloved in Southern California.

The band announced that they would be playing a pair of shows next year, simply entitled West Coast ’25. February 28th will see them playing the House of Blues Anaheim, and March 1st the band will be stopping by the famed Soma in San Diego.
Any time Goldfinger play, it’s a must-see event, but they are bringing a stacked lineup of artists along for both shows.

Fellow ‘90s pop punk The Ataris will also be playing both nights. They first started to gain traction with “Blue Skies, Broken Hearts… Next 12 Exits” but it would be 2003’s “So Long, Astoria” that would really blow them up.
With the success of “In This Diary” and their cover of Don Henley’s “Boys of Summer,” they became Warped Tour regulars.
Mad Caddies will be bringing along their mix of punk-ska-reggae-Dixieland jazz to the party.
They just brought down the house at Garden Amp last month and released “Arrows Room 117” this year, sounding refreshed with a renewed lineup.
Rounding out the night will be Southern California ‘90s punk band and fan favorite, Slick Shoes.
They are no strangers to playing with Goldfinger, Unwritten Law, or the Warped Tour. Their most notable album, “Wake Up Screaming,” was produced by none other than Bill Stevenson of Descendents.
The band has been active again, recently playing several local shows and fans will be packed in early to catch their set.
This is a stacked lineup and will be sizzling, tickets are on sale so don’t sleep on this!
