NO OBLIGATION TOUR
Live at the Glass House
April 8th, 2025 Review by Christina Sanchez
It was April 1st at The Glass House, but this was no April Fool’s – this was to be a fantastic show with one of the best new bands on the planet.
This incredible band of teenagers from Los Angeles is sonically sound beyond their years, ask anyone and they will tell you The Linda Lindas are just getting started.

It was a very windy night, but that did not keep the crowd away. It was a good mix of teens and adults, a lot of moms and their daughters. There were several fans wearing little whisker makeup like Eloise Wong of The Linda Lindas. It was also pretty cute that The Linda Linda girls were walking around out front and inside around the crowd and no one bothered them. Over the summer, we caught them with Green Day, and at the biggest venues on the planet, the ladies from the band walked around where they met and made fans.
The crowd arrived early and the venue filled up quickly, but they were treated to some solid openers. The first band out was Chicano Mosh from Corona, and what stood out immediately was their amazing guitar riffs and electrifying lyrics.
The crowd was locked in, moshing along to the fiery Spanish songs, and when the singer told everyone to jump… the whole crowd bounced up and down in unison. Later, he spoke of the first song he ever wrote for the band, “More Often.”

CHICANO MOSH
Chicano Mosh had a very nice mix of Spanish and English songs, and I was super impressed by their guitarist, Melissa. She was an absolute shredder, plus she had dynamic vocals.
Up next was another crowd favorite, Be Your Own Pet. Hailing from Nashville, this very risqué band has a very sensual lead singer in Jemina Pearl. She got everyone’s attention immediately when she stepped on the stage in her black thigh-high shiny boots.

BE YOUR OWN PET
The band is dynamic and very explosive. They definitely brought out emotion in the crowd as there was a lot of headbanging and dancing throughout The Glass House.

They played songs off their latest album, “Mommy,” and the crowd went nuts for their big radio hit, “Worship the Whip.” Pearl left everyone in awe with her vocal prowess as she definitely has the pipes.

The Linda Lindas were up next, playing in support of their 2024 album, “No Obligation,” and everyone was pumped to see them. The crowd was prepared to hear music from the album and some other earlier tracks.
The atmosphere was electrifying. There were cool graphics behind the drum kit, including a backdrop with “We Rebuild What You Destroy.”
As a professional observation, we have covered this band several times since they broke out, and I can attest that they have grown by leaps and bounds as musicians and entertainers. Their hard work to evolve is a testament to the energy they bring to each song they play no matter what stage they are on.

THE LINDA LINDAS
All four members of this quartet – Bela Salazar (guitar), Eloise Wong (bass), Lucia de la Garza (guitar), and Mila de la Garza (drums) – handle vocal duties, and since forming in Los Angeles in 2018, they have done nothing but impress and this day was no departure from their meteoric rise of coolness.
After dropping “Growing Up” in 2022, the ladies embarked on tours with The Rolling Stones, Green Day, and Smashing Pumpkins.

They took us through so many awesome songs: “No Obligation,” “Too Many Things,” “Yo me estreso,” two covers – “Found a Job” (Talking Heads cover) and “Tren al sur” (Los Prisioneros cover) – “Lose Yourself / Excuse Me,” and with a wink and a smile Lucia launched The Glass House into their next radio super-song, “Don’t Think.”
As time for the end of the show was nearing, the crowd went bananas over the last song of the set, the viral anthem, “Racist, Sexist Boy.”

Despite the number of great songs, the crowd wanted more and screamed for an encore. Given the affection these ladies have for their fans, they came back out to the stage. With the biggest smiles, The Linda Lindas jolted the house with an electrifying cover of Green Day’s “When I Come Around.” That was followed by their latest radio smash hit “All in My Head” and a cover of Bikini Kill’s, “Rebel Girl.” It was an incredible night of music from some badass ladies (and gents).
Check out The Linda Lindas whenever you can. They have several more US shows before they fly overseas to rule the biggest festivals of the summer!
