New Music & Tour
November 13th, 2025 by Traci Turner
The British legends known as Squeeze have a new album headed our way in 2026, and have just dropped the first track.
“Trixies Part One” is our introduction to the forthcoming album, “Trixies,” and “the rhythm of the club and the colorful assortment of characters within.”
When we spoke to founding member Glenn Tilbrook in 2023, he did tease the album: “Our aim is to do two albums sometime in the fall; one of which is going to be 50-year-old songs, and the other one’s going to be an album of new songs.”

“Trixies” is indeed an album of 50-year-old songs from Squeeze’s founders and songwriting mainstays, Chris Difford and Tilbrook – their first album in eight years, but the first they ever wrote.
We know and love them thanks to “Tempted,” “Black Coffee in Bed,” “Pulling Mussels,” “Cool for Cats,” “Another Nail in My Heart,” “Take Me I’m Yours,” “Is That Love,” and “Goodbye Girl.” (Seriously, these guys have a lot of hits!)
When they toured the US with Psychedelic Furs in 2023, and then on their own in 2024, I was truly blown away by how phenomenal and sharp they are and have held other bands to the same standards since.
But years ago, before the worldwide tours, teenage Difford (19) and Tilbrook (16) began a songwriting partnership that included “concept albums and rock operas,” including “a collection of stories set in a fictional night club, Trixies.”
The songs were in their infancy and not ready to see the world yet, but now is their time. “We fully committed ourselves to songwriting but this was three or four years before we even got to make our first record. Long story short, these were songs that we just didn’t have enough musical experience to record properly,” explained Difford.

“The songs that we wrote then astound me. I’m proud of them now, and I’m particularly proud that it was young us that did that. These are very much the same songs that we wrote then,” Tilbrook added. “The only difference is that now I can teach the songs to the rest of the band. Back then, I didn’t even know what the names of the chords were!”
As for the other album Tilbrook mentioned in the 2023 interview, yes, that is also on the way. An album brand new Squeeze songs was recorded at the same time as “Trixies” and is finished. Its release date will be announced at a later date.
Squeeze will spend December on the road in Europe with Madness, but a new album likely means a new North American tour.
