Coming to House of Blues Anaheim
January 3, 2025 by Holly Jones
Mad, bad, and dangerous to know – OK, maybe not so mad or bad or dangerous, but they are the ultimate sonic experience.
Sweet and Tender Hooligans are returning to Orange County, making a stop at the House of Blues Anaheim.

Take a trip back to the past and enjoy music from back in the day as they pay homage to The Smiths and Morrissey’s epic catalogues.
Since their formation in Los Angeles in 1992, Jose Maldonado and the Sweet and Tender Hooligans have been performing our favorite songs from The Smiths to satisfy us since the iconic band’s 1987 dissolution.
The band has not only won scores of fans across the US, they have travelled across the pond and performed to sold-out crowds in the UK and attracted the attention of the BBC. Still going after 25 years, Sweet and Tender Hooligans are the perfect show for lovers of Morrissey and The Smiths.
The band features epic crooner, The Mexican Morrissey, Jose Maldonado. His vocals and onstage performance will leave you speechless.
The band is full of epically talented musicians as well – on bass is Vandal’s core member, Joe Escalante, Art Barrios and David Collet man the guitars, and Danny Garcia is on drums. Tom Lennon will be joining the Hooligans on guitar for the Anaheim show.

Their collective effort creates a beehive moment where we are all transported as one to a time where The Smiths and Morrissey ruled the airwaves.
Songs you will undoubtedly get to hear and experience include “What Difference Does It Make,” “Ask,” “Everyday is Like Sunday,” “Girlfriend in a Coma,” “The Last of the Famous International Playboys,” “Suedehead,” “Bigmouth Strikes Again,” “How Soon is Now,” and “Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now.”
If you want to have an epic adventure, check out this band January 10th at The Observatory North Park in San Diego, or when they traverse the I-5 to Anaheim on January 11th where they will entertain us at the House of Blues.
Tickets are available for both shows, so go out and get them – it will be a night to remember!
