January 16, 2025 by Kim Scirotto
Orange County residents have the chance to see John 5 live when he brings his pyrotechnic rock show to The Observatory in Santa Ana on January 24th.
While John 5 has become synonymous with the bands he has worked with over the years, he has a successful solo career and has been touring himself, inviting other talented musicians to play onstage with him.
This time around, Marty Friedman will join John 5 for an amazing night of virtuosic guitar playing.

Over his illustrious career, John 5 has solidified his talent as a musician through his impressive catalog and the extensive list of musicians he has worked with – Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, David Lee Roth, Marilyn Manson, and Motley Crue are just a few.
Being such a versatile guitarist puts John 5 in high demand with other talented musicians, which is why Marty Friedman compliments this show so well!
Marty Friedman has had his own remarkable career, bringing his technical proficiency and unique playing style to any project he has worked on. In addition to his solo career, Friedman famously worked with Megadeth and Cacophony, and has cemented his status as a revered icon in the world of guitar. With these two experts onstage, fans are in for a fantastic night.
John 5 and Marty Friedman will bring their diverse stylings to fan favorites such as “LA Xpress,” “Que Pasa,” “Crank It – Living with Ghosts,” “Strung Out,” “I Want It All,” “Here’s to the Crazy Ones,” “I Am John 5,” and a brilliant compilation of covers, and what better place to perform than at The Observatory!
With an excellent sound system and impressive stage design, The Observatory has gained a reputation as a go-to venue for artists of at every level. Its industrial aesthetic, with an ample open space and a high ceiling, creates an engaging and immersive experience for concertgoers. The venue is also known for its laid-back, inclusive vibe, and its strong connection to the local music scene.
I can’t imagine a better place to see these ingenious guitarists than at The Observatory. Guitar and rock enthusiasts can’t pass this show up, so get your tickets while they last!
