Set to Play Yaamava’ Theater in Highland
March 4, 2025 by Shane Pase
This fall, Yaamava’ Theater will host one of country music’s most distinctive voices. Darius Rucker takes the stage on September 11th, bringing his rich, baritone voice, Southern charm and charisma, and a catalog of hits, including hits from Hootie & the Blowfish and some amazing covers!
The show will no doubt highlight material from Rucker’s 2023 release, “Carolyn’s Boy,” an album named for his mother, who passed in 1992.
The 14-track collection features standout singles, like “Fires Don’t Start Themselves” and “Same Beer Different Problem,” alongside the previously released “Beers and Sunshine.” The record showcases Rucker’s evolution as a songwriter while honoring his mother’s influence on his life and career.
Before establishing himself as a country mainstay, Rucker made his mark as the front-man of the iconic Hootie & the Blowfish.
The band’s 1994 debut, “Cracked Rear View,” became one of the best-selling albums in music history, yielding hits “Hold My Hand” and “Only Wanna Be with You.”
Rucker’s transition to country in 2008 proved equally successful, making history when “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It” reached number one, making him the first Black artist to top the country charts since Charley Pride in 1983.
His country career has earned him numerous accolades, including a Grammy and membership in the Grand Ole Opry, further cementing his place in country music’s pantheon.

The Yaamava’ show is set for September 11th and promises career-spanning music delivered with the warmth and authenticity that have become Rucker’s hallmarks.
For fans of thoughtful country music performed by one of the genre’s most compelling voices, this is a date worth marking on the calendar.
Tickets are on sale now, but act fast as this show will sell out!
