Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark
Celebrate 40 Years of “Crush”
July 29th, 2025 by Traci Turner
Our beloved Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the album that helped break them on our shores, “Crush.”
The English gents will drop an expanded reissue of the LP on October 10th to honor the occasion. “Crush” was the sixth album from Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys and is home to mega hits “So in Love” and “Secret.”

ORCHESTRAL MANOEUVRES IN THE DARK
The 40th celebration “Crush” offers a two-LP set on black and colored vinyl, as well as two CD and digital formats. Remastered from the original files, the anniversary release includes “new material including seven unreleased tracks from the album’s multitrack sessions, mixed by Paul Humphreys.”
In addition, it also includes “two demos, an alternative mix, four never-before-heard songs, plus non-album b-sides and extended or 12” mixes, some of which have never been reissued or issued on CD/digitally.”

As if that was not enough, it is made complete with “rare photos and comprehensive notes by journalist and author Jason Draper in conversation with Andy McCluskey.”

The anniversary edition of “Crush” includes previously unreleased songs “Wheels of Steel,” “Lana Turner v.1,” “Hold You (Rough),” “Choral,” “Lana Turner v.2,” “Drift (Demo),” and “All or Nothing (Demo).” B-sides are “Concrete Hands,” “Firegun,” “Maria Gallante,” and “Drift,” and there are extended versions of “Secret” and “So In Love.”
OMD has just capped off some US dates, but they will be back in – to Anaheim in fact! November 9th they will play House of Blues Anaheim, so snag those asap!
