The Future Has Arrived For

July 17, 2024 by Nancy Evans
The future has arrived for Irish post-punkers Fontaines D.C. with new music and a tour. We last saw them at Primavera Sound, Los Angeles, and did they open eyes and hearts of the musically inclined crowd. This band has always had an aura surrounding them that had fans just waiting for them to blow up; well, the wait is over!
Their current UK tour has had them playing some of the biggest festivals and venues on the planet, and for their global fanbase, they can all give a collective sigh of relief because the band is coming to this side of the pond for a North American tour.

With their fourth studio album, “Romance,” set to drop August 23rd, the byproduct of this new masterpiece is Fontaines D.C. is coming into their own.
They already have a few mega-hits on their hands with “Skinty Fia,” “Liberty Belle,” “Winter in the Sun,” “Hurricane Laugher,” and “Boys in the Better Land.”
Some of their fans may have a few more songs to add to that epic catalog of theirs, but you get the drift.
Their latest uber-hit, “Starburster,” is picking up the pace and throwing it into another gear. It doesn’t hurt that this band has the look they just came out of a James Bond movie scene as the cool band in the bar while Bond was ordering his martini.
This Irish sensation features Giran Chatten behind the mic with Carlos O’Connel on guitar / piano, Conor Curley also on guitar and piano, Conor Deegan III is on bass, and the band rounds out with Tom Coll on drums.

To hear their music is only part of the experience, because their live performance is just unreal. Their collective soul oozes an energetic electro-funk sound you just have to see to believe. When you think kick-ass music with a cool vibe, you will think Fontaines, D.C.
Their 2024 North American tour hits SoCal in September where you can see them at the Hollywood Palladium on the 26th, then at SOMA in San Diego on the 27th, and finally on the 28th at the Fox Theater in Pomona.
Get ready to check out the next big export from Ireland!
